Acute bacterial prostatitis is an acute inflammation of the prostaglandins and ducts caused by bacteria or their toxins.
[Clinical manifestations]
Acute onset, common fever, chills, anorexia, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, frequent urination, urgency, pain in urination, and sometimes purulent or turbid fluid discharged from the urethra or terminal hematuria, or difficulty urinating, pain and discomfort in the perineum, and radiation to the waist, thigh, and perineum; "The rectum is swollen, causing pain in the rectum during defecation, with a feeling of urgency and heaviness after defecation. Sometimes the urethral orifice drips white, and sexual function decreases.".
Diagnosis
1. Physical signs
(1) The lower abdomen tenderness is positive, and there is purulent secretion in the urethra.
(2) Digital examination of the rectum revealed significant swelling of the prostaglandins, smooth and regular surfaces, and significant tenderness. If there is a sense of fluctuation, it indicates abscess formation. Sometimes, there is redness, swelling, and tenderness in the perineum.
2. Laboratory inspection
(1) Blood routine: The white blood cell count and neutrophil count increase.
(2) Urinary routine examination: Urinary routine examination can be normal for acute prostatitis caused by hematogenous infection; When prostatitis is caused by urinary tract infection, there are inflammatory changes in the urine.
(3) Prostate fluid examination: Lecithin decreases or disappears, and there are more than 10 high-power visual fields of purulent leukocytes.
A clear diagnosis can be made based on medical history, symptoms, physical signs, and laboratory results. If the symptoms persist for more than one week, the white blood cell count rapidly increases, the perineum and anus are severely distended and painful, and the lower urinary tract symptoms are aggravated, the abscess formation should be considered when acute urinary retention occurs.
